Toby is 7 years old. He has no known medical needs. This fellow tends to enjoy a quieter household.
He is house trained and enjoys exploring his yard or leisurely walks on leash but he is equally happy when he is close and snuggling with a trusted human.
At 20 lbs., Toby may be small but holds his own. With respectful introductions, he is comfortable with other dogs. He has lived with them before and would likely do quite well with another dog companion in his foster home.
Good with cats and kids? We don’t know much about Toby’s interactions with cats.
Older kids may be okay if they’re willing to be patient, reward him with treats, and let him warm up to them when he is ready. Rough housing is not his style.
Animal Characteristics: Toby is fearful of strangers. He needs slow, careful introductions to people he does not know. This could mean saying "no thanks" to the well-meaning neighbor who is a stranger to him and wants to pet him during a walk. Moving him to a separate part of the house when guests or repairmen come over would make him feel safe and well secure. Toby needs time to know and trust new people.

Davian is a 10 year old lady. She is scheduled to have a mass removed from her front left leg and needs a quiet foster home where she can recover.
Davian loves attention and affection. This sweet senior is a real Velcro dog and will want to stay close. She is good with other dogs but wants to be fed separately since other dogs in her past would gobble her food.

Rose lives for rides. In fact, we think she’d make a great trucker’s companion. Maybe it’s because this gentle senior has been at the Rescue Ranch since 2018.
She’s more than ready to hit the road.
Though she is quiet, affectionate, and well-mannered, her medical condition has led to being overlooked. Rose has congestive heart disease that requires two daily medications, Lasix and Benzodiazepine. These are quite inexpensive drugs but must be given daily for the rest of her life.
Medical condition aside, when she is out of her kennel, she loves to run in our play yard. She’s good at both relaxation and play, depending on what the occasion calls for. She’ll enjoy a good game of fetch or to curl up beside you. She loves walks, long or short, and she is super easy on leash!
Rose has a calm demeanor that makes her an ideal companion. We'd love to find this lovely dame a comfortable foster home while she awaits her forever family!

Fostering gives an animal in need a temporary home while we work on finding their forever family. This can be for a few weeks to several months depending on the needs of the animal. It also provides space in our shelter which can always use the extra kennel!
Fostering provides the animals in your care with a real advantage to finding a permanent home by providing a non-shelter environment where the dog can relax, work on basic commands, and start to exhibit more of his or her true personality. Dogs who have never known a family environment or senior dogs who need a gentler pace than shelter life provides are especially good candidates for fostering to bring out their best side and offer quality of life they deserve!
The more that is known about the dog in your care, the more likely the right adopter family will be found. What a gift to give!
Indigo’s Rescue Ranch & Sanctuary provides the required vaccinations and necessary medical care during our dogs’ time in foster care.
